About the project
Operating 26 showrooms across the United Arab Emirates, Al-Futtaim Motors is the exclusive distributor of Toyota, Lexus, HINO and Toyota Material Handling equipment in the UAE. Called the Wave, their latest space is the region’s largest and most advanced Toyota flagship retail space. Working with London based creative consultancy, Greenspace, the new space brings together Toyota principles and Al-Futtaim Motors’ vision of ‘passion for better’.
The new retail flagship in Abu Dhabi has been designed with customer journey and experience in mind, the Wave includes the Toyota Design Studio, a café, play space for children, a heritage exhibition, a handover lounge with dedicated departure lane, and a service centre.
Greenspace selected Herman Miller’s Public Office system, designed by Yves Behar, for use throughout the Wave. The furniture system, specified in red, grey and white visually links with Toyota’s brand colours and brings fluidity, variety, ergonomics to social and business seating in order to help people feel engaged, focused, and collaborative.
Greenspace CEO and Founder Adrian Caddy says, “The Public Office System we have chosen to work alongside the digital screens does away with the need to create typical semi-enclosed sales desks in the product spaces that would disrupt the retail experience.”
