About the project
Laying claim to award-winning alumni, the University of Sharjah is one of the leading academic institutions in the UAE. Designed by Limelight and fit-out by KPS.
Far from your average canteen, they wanted a dynamic space where students could not only eat and drink, but study and socialize too. Part of that was the kitchen – which featured a buffet-style layout, digital menus, and capacity to cater for hundreds of students at once.
Nestled neatly next to the kitchen is the dining area, where students have a choice between formal and casual seating – whatever suits the mood. Dotted around the perimeter are work booths, equipped with cubby hole seating and widescreen monitors.
