About the project
Zero Fat Restaurant in Abu Dhabi is modern and minimal with a touch of retro. Designed by Key Concept, the newly opened branch of the cafe features a fresh look and feel. The space was styled to be casual and cosy for a lively morning mood. Inspired by the brand’s ethos of serving food with no trans fat, the design is airy and almost ‘transparent’, and that is achieved through floating lights, metal mesh, slim metal profiles and mirrors.
The colour palette takes cues from nature and the concept of fresh healthy food. Deep red and green meld with materials inspired by gym and sports equipment, such as concrete, black metal bars and rubber. This unexpected fusion of colour and materials gave Zero Fat its unique identity. The shell features lighter tones and subdued materials that contrast with the core, which is the bar that is topped with Red Calcutta marble and red rubber flooring.
