About the project
As an intrepid adventurer and voyager, Zheng He commanded expeditions to Southeast Asia, South Asia, Western Asia, and East Africa from 1405 to 1433. Immortalised not only in history books, his name lives on in a new restaurant located in Jumeirah Mina A’Salam.
Zheng He’s look includes sleek-styled furniture with low profiles and incorporates nature-inspired elements that create a serene space. Rich colours such as vibrant red, olive green and splashes of gold reflect a traditional Oriental design. In designing the interior of the restaurant, Harrison opted for clean, straight lines, while the uncluttered feel adds to this sense of balance and harmony. The use of water, wood, stone and plants translates to a modern and exotic area. Fitted by Plafond, this Zen-like space contains bare wood floors as well as low-profile furniture with smooth lines.
