About the project
With Atmosfire Barbeque Pit, Dubai, 4Space Interior Design created a classic yet trending restaurant concept – a central open barbecue fire pit with six different grills from around the world. So basically… a carnivore’s paradise!
The fitout was executed by Blue Camel Design. Located on Jumeirah Beach Road, as you enter, a massive floor-to-ceiling brazier takes centre stage and serves as the focal point. An open fire barbecue pit keeps guests entertained and involved in the culinary action. Rotating chairs were designed and installed here not just for comfort but also for guests to observe freely.
Floors, walls, tables and countertops primarily feature terrazzo, while corten steel walls with ember linear lighting on the ground floor continue the ‘grill’ effect. Moreover, striking ‘broken brick’ on the walls and ceilings juxtaposed against sleek surfaces highlights the dichotomy of Dubai – one of the youngest modern cities of the world with a rich, ancient heritage.
As a final touch to the modern slash yesteryear design concept, a copper mirror was added to the ground floor ceiling and mezzanine wall to give an illusion of space. The overall look? That of a retro, rediscovered diner that melds the broken and the dated with the uber new, creating striking contrasts and a stunning interior.
