Inspired by the regal peacock – the national bird of India – MOR is a statement chair that celebrates traditional design in a contemporary way. An homage to the vibrant colours and chaos of cities in India, it is a celebration of colour, texture and pattern.
The Hindi word for peacock, MOR references the dramatic fanning out of the bird’s plumage with a foldable side-screen that offers a different design perspective.
MOR incorporates age-old hand-weaving techniques – commonly seen in the traditional ‘charpai’ – to craft a sturdy yet pliant seat and back made from 100% recycled fabric from Vescom. The frame is embellished with jute-like yarn sourced from local palm tree waste.
