Naseej by Gensler

“A contemporary translation of intangible cultural heritage, “Naseej” is an artisanal piece merging between the Egyptian and Palestinian cultures. Focusing on embroidery, palm weaving, calligraphy and story telling in its different ways, our creation not only celebrates heritage, but also educates people to respect and preserve it.

The experience starts as soon as you see the piece. In fact, the texture of the clay and colors of the embroidery immediately remind you of our roots. As you come close and get immersed into the dome, you start to see, read, smell and contemplate the Egyptian calligraphy and the historic Palestinian upholstery while listening to cultural stories and practices. “Naseej” is a piece that triggers all senses, making one fully immersed and connected to our cultural heritage.”
