Since the beginning of its history, Cementos Bío Bío SA has focused on constant and sustained growth, based on the quality of its products and the trust of its customers. This has allowed it, over the years, to position itself as one of the most important cement companies in the country.
In the Cement Business , its first production plant was opened in 1961 in Talcahuano, aimed at serving the market in the southern part of the country. To cover the northern zone, in 1978, it acquired a majority stake in Industria Nacional de Cement SA, INACESA, in Antofagasta, completing its acquisition in 1985. In 1998, it entered the market in the central zone with the start-up of the Curicó Plant, designated then as the most modern of its kind in Chile. In 2009 it expanded its installed capacity with a new cement grinding plant in the Port of San Antonio, which began operations in 2012.
