Peter Mederer, Christopher Nienemann, Yves-Roger Erb, Manuela Kowarschik and Jürgen Bisch founded jb architekten in December 2009 . Since Jürgen Bisch founded the freelance work in 1982, the goal of creating timeless, functional buildings with great planning depth has been continued and further developed.

At the beginning of 2021, Jürgen Bisch, who celebrated his 67th birthday in 2020, is retiring from the management of the company and as the majority shareholder and is still mainly active in an advisory capacity.
