In parallel with the global contest Light for Future recently launched by iGuzzini, the Interior Design Students at American Univeristy in Dubai (AUD) have been tasked to design a graphic for a metal/glass gobo to be produced and applied to the innovative fitting Palco InOut and to develop the storytelling behind their concept.
The challenge was developed by students of AUD Interior Design Smart Design class, Prof. Annamaria Lambri.
The winner of the competition will have his/her lighting concept installed at the University premises and the organizers are also planning to hold an event at d3 during the Downtown Design Week to showcase the winning concept.
The competition is a call to use light as a creative, sustainable and entertaining tool to inspire and raise awareness on important topics. In addition to Sergio Padula, our Technical Director who also led an intro workshop for the students, the organizers have involved as part of the jury Siddharth Mathur, Lighting Designer, Founder and Partner of Studio Lumen, one of the most established lighting design practices in the region. The final ceremony will be held on Sunday 24th April at 4 pm at the AUD.
