Preciosa Lighting opens one-of-a-kind DesignLab for decorative lighting in the heart of Europe
Preciosa Lighting, the Czech lighting specialist, opened an interactive space for designers to learn, play, and create with crystal and light. Preciosa DesignLab is located in the company’s northern Czech Republic production facility and headquarters. When visiting Preciosa Lighting’s factory one can experience breath-taking craft, expertise, and innovation. The opening of the Preciosa DesignLab is another sensory element. Visitors can now immerse themselves in the materials and technologies that makes a Preciosa light so distinctive. Preciosa DesignLab encompasses 2000 square metres and features 2500 crystal samples with various treatments, colours and lighting sources; helping designers easily navigate through crystal’s optical, aesthetic, and illuminating properties.

To make the process even easier, Preciosa DesignLab is completely digitalized. Designers can mix and match colours and materials online to see how they work together. Having physical samples on hand as well adds to the individual experience. Their clients can work with Preciosa DesignLab in a way that makes sense to them and their project; no matter the time or the place.
Lighting alchemy
Preciosa cultivates chandeliers, ensuring the glass making tradition continues to burn brightly. An important part of this cultivation is ingenuity and technology; lighting alchemy for the 21st century. The company places great importance on engaging emotions to create the perfect light and experience. Preciosa DesignLab opens up the possibility for designers to discover, experiment, and play with the power of crystal and light. Designers have the opportunity to touch the metals and fabrics; compare colours, and experience the effect light has on crystal. All the senses will be engaged as visitors explore the factory, meet the artisans, and discover 100 crafts under one roof. They will feel the heat of the furnace and watch the master glass blowers and grinders craft perfect crystal components. They’ll explore the technology and love that goes into every light Preciosa designs and produces. They can also take advantage of the company’s expertise.
