Arper participates in the 54th edition of NeoCon

Arper participates in the 54th edition of NeoCon, held from 12-14th June in Chicago. The new collections, Aava 02 by Antti Kotilainen, Ralik by Ichiro Iwasaki, Roopa and Shaal by Doshi Levien, Semiton by García Cumini, and the 2022 edition of the Onemm table by Peter Kunz, will be presented in their showroom space within The Merchandise Mart, Floor 3, Space #346.

For this occasion, Arper explores today’s life and its complexities, proposing solutions that inspire beauty, energy, and vitality and offering a new perspective that is summed up in the concept of Life Is Beautiful.

Beauty is often misunderstood as superficial, about appearance, something secondary to today’s challenges. To us, however, it is exactly the opposite: a deep and rich quality that encompasses our hope for the future. Beauty is a thriving ecosystem, a moment relaxing with loved ones, the satisfying feeling of things falling into place, a world that can be passed down to the next generation. It’s what motivates us to make spaces and solutions that serve the project of living. Beauty is more than aesthetic: it is versatile, generous, and enveloping. Beauty is living.

Arper’s exhibition space at NeoCon interprets Life Is Beautiful through a white, airy, and ethereal textile backdrop, combined with chromatic elements (products on display, styling, photography, videos, and graphics) that blend architecture and colors, giving the space an energetic, vital and luminous look. The collections on display express the constant search for technical and production solutions that aim to reduce their environmental impact: ease of disassembly, recyclable, made with materials from certified sources, and with minimal use of adhesives.

“Arper has always put people and their needs at the center of everything we do. With our modus operandi, ‘the project of living,’ we have created a dialogue to increase awareness of customers’ needs based on changes, in the world and people, through all stages of their lives. We want to improve our ability to listen and respond through interior design: it is not simply a matter of placing products into spaces but of making people’s experiences charged with meaning. As an organization, we continue to set an example of responsible business, where sustainability permeates the company firstly in its culture, then in processes and products. At this year’s NeoCon, we want to display this message. The showroom, much like the booth at Salone del Mobile earlier this year, utilizes repurposed translucent drapery panels, which in turn reduces waste typically associated with temporary displays. Our collections are the result of the implementation of sustainable technologies and processes, continuously improved over time.”

Aava 02 Design by Antti Kotilainen, 2013 – New edition, 2023

The classic minimalism of Aava looks forward with new sustainable materials. Made from both a durable and beautiful post-consumer plastic and virgin polypropylene in a new palette of colors designed to complement other Arper collections, Aava 02 offers a responsible model that has our future top of mind, creating beauty for the generations to come. Aava 02 reimagines a classic design with sustainable materials. New post-consumer recycled polypropylene reinforced with fiberglass offers durability without sacrificing high-quality finish and color, two difficult distinctions for sustainable materials. The full range of chairs and stools can now be finished in this new material, as well as a range of FSC-certified wood or with upholstery in multiple styles. Fully upholstered seats are designed without glue so parts may easily separate for recycling or reuse. Appropriate for varied applications and spaces, the light, minimalist design–still relevant after 10 years–promises longevity.

Ralik Design by Ichiro Iwasaki, 2023

Beauty takes many shapes. Pouf, seat with backrest, and bench, Ralik is a fully modular system with elements that can be used in conjunction or apart, as life demands. A family of side and end tables provides structure and surface for working or relaxing. Elegant and easy, Ralik celebrates how fluid beauty can be.

Ralik brings endless possibilities to any space with a fully modular system equipped with quick and tool-free linking. The collection includes six seating components: a pouf, seat with backrest, and bench – all available in one and two seat configurations. These components can be used together or apart, working in small clusters or coming together for a larger composition. The Ralik tables, available in both fixed and adjustable height, slot in seamlessly to provide structure and surface to the softer forms, and individual cushions can also be combined with benches to ensure comfort in larger configurations. Seating elements and adjoining tables include charging outlets for use at home, in office or in public spaces. Distinctive L-shaped recycled polypropylene legs give the modules a light sculptural effect and access underneath for cleaning. Both upholstery and legs are offered in a variety of colors to mix and match. The collection is fully disassemblable with removable upholstery for easy reuse or recycling.

Roopa Design by Doshi Levien, 2023

A simple, joyful form, Roopa celebrates small, significant details. Essential shapes form a sculptural signature that can live comfortably with Shaal or other Arper collections. Thoughtfully finished with an attention to surface and texture, the contrast between matte frame and high gloss table top is both playful and sophisticated. Its impact is simultaneously pragmatic and iconic, a beautiful companion for life. Roopa plays upon the contrast of materials and finish first explored in Shaal. While the top has a high gloss finish of semi-translucent glass, a matte MDF frame provides texture to complete the overall monochrome look. Finished in warm grey, midnight blue, forest green or Jaipur pink, the table complements Shaal colorways, or can provide an elegant accent to any space. Slight angles to the legs add a subtle, sculptural signature. Roopa is fully disassemble for proper recycling, made with FSC-certified and European-sourced MDF.

Semiton Design by García Cumini, 2023

Mix it up, pull it out, put it away, make some space, set it on display. Endlessly customizable and finished on all sides for nomadic use, the Semiton is an adaptive piece that adds structure, surface, and storage to any space. Different shelving and storage modules along with a broad range of finishes provide almost infinite configurations, that can be expanded with further modules in order to adapt to different needs and demands. Whether used as a surrounding structure or striking centerpiece, Semiton offers beautiful possibilities. Semiton can be a commanding centerpiece, or the surrounding structure to a room. The collection is a fully customizable and reconfigurable system comprising base and tabletop offered in two lengths, and three distinct modules of two heights finished with doors, open shelving or closed on one side. Distinctive sculptural effect adds a particular sophistication to the design of the base. Modules can be finished individually in a broad palette of MDF in bold colors or with wood veneer, for a playful design or subtle monochrome effect. Bases are made of aluminum and tabletops are available in a range of wood veneer. The modules are finished on all sides for nomadic use anywhere in a space and hidden cable management preserves the integrity of the overall aesthetic. All components are fully disassemble and reconfigurable, designed for longevity.

ONEMM  Designed by Peter Kunz 2023

ONEMM is the abbreviation of “One Millimetre” –  like origami creations that fold paper into form, the design bends a single sheet of steel, just one millimeter thick, into a slender, sculptural, rigid, and resistant table. Incredibly thin and light, ONEMM radically dematerializes the table with a minimalist gesture spotlighting line to trace back to the form’s very essence. The result is a product that’s sculptural and clean, timeless and elegant. ONEMM fits as perfectly in offices as it does in home environments. Finished in black, white, or red-painted steel, the top pairs with matching metal legs, available in two different heights, for a sophisticated industrial look, or wooden legs in FSC-certified European oak, in either natural or black finishes. Constructed of just five lightweight and sustainable components that ship flat-packed for minimal environmental impact, ONEMM is made with efficiency in mind.‎ When its lifespan comes to an end, ONEMM can be simply disassembled and sorted for recycling.‎
