E Plus A Atelier Collaborates With Huda Lighting, Downtown Design 2022

The leading design fair in the Middle East is returning to Dubai Design District, D3, from 9 to 12 November 2022 under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa Bint Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture & Arts Authority. As a key part of the eighth Dubai Design Week, Downtown Dubai reflects the city as the design capital of the region. The four-day programme has an extraordinary range of design events bringing together decision-makers and thought leaders of the global design stage. Over 200 renowned international designers, brands and studios will be in attendance. Attracting over 100,000 visitors to the D3 neighbourhood allows them to explore innovative solutions for the hospitality industry, home and workplace settings.

E plus A Atelier is collaborating with the inimitable Huda Lighting, the leading lighting solution provider for the Middle East and North Africa region. Together, they present four Huda Lighting brands in a vast 4,000-square-foot stand. E plus A Atelier has designed and produced unique pieces and settings to display various Huda Lighting collections and stand- alone lighting pieces, highlighting their design intentions, language and capabilities as a pioneering design studio. Huda Lighting approached E plus A Atelier to collaborate. Both design companies chose complementary products from their collections to create bespoke products. E plus A Atelier designed customised marble pieces inspired by the chosen lighting collection. The collaboration concept is motivated by organic forms of topography and fauna, creating a pathway between Earth, futuristic spaces, sustainability, technology, vision and light. Huda Lighting has collaborated with other Italian brands and successfully exhibited at Downtown Dubai.

Visitors can expect a playful and engaging vibe; they are encouraged to touch, experience and view the pieces from innumerable angles and interact with them with all their senses. White solid marble benches with rough, natural and organic finishes blend seamlessly with the lighting without overpowering them. The side tables, whilst simple, are complex and original designs. E plus A Atelier used a diverse variety of marble and treatments in the masterpieces; two pieces contain both wood and marble. The designers carefully used sustainably cut marble to reduce wastage and chose recycled wood and sustained shipping options to minimise their footprint.
