Ege Carpets prelaunch: SHE by Laura Bilde & Linnea Blæhr
Exhibiting at The Lapidarium of Kings during 3daysofdesign
Don’t miss the opportunity to get a unique sneak peek at Ege Carpets’ upcoming collection, SHE, when the carpet novelty previews at The Lapidarium of Kings during the 3daysofdesign festival in Copenhagen 7-9 June 2023.
An artistic exhibition & design story
The SHE exhibition stages six carpet patterns created by Laura Bilde and Linnea Blæhr for Ege Carpets. The design colab is a tribute to her celebrating female artists in their time not obtaining the recognition they deserved within the textile weaving, sculpture or painting handicrafts. Framing each pattern, they become independent works open to interpretation.
Following a fascination of the preferred techniques of the 1930s’ and 1940s’ artists, all SHE patterns are made by hand to embrace the unique expression of a line that’s either drawn, cut or put together by physical materials. Bringing imperfect details into the designs while keeping a simplistic yet organic look adds naturalness and artistic freedom to each carpet. The colour scheme mixes the shades most predominant during the 1930s’ functionalism – and equally relevant in contemporary interior design.
Pure luxury in pure materials
SHE is a premium carpet collection in 100% pure British wool crafted from extra-long and therefore extra-durable fibres to ensure a luxurious look and feel. Featuring extreme colour saturation, the pre-dyed wool excels in adding depth and contrast. The plush surface brings a multi-sensuous dimension to any interior while promoting personal wellbeing through high comfort, improved acoustics and exquisite aesthetics.
An award-winning design friendship SHE is the second design collab between Laura Bilde, Linnea Blæhr and Ege Carpets. First came the multi-award-winning ReForm A New Wave collection, which is inspired by the raw and untouched scenery of the Danish west coast.
