iGuzzini Student Design Challenge 2024 – 3rd Edition

A collaboration AUDesign LAB, AUD Interior Design Department and iGuzzini

The third edition of Light for Future, iGuzzini Student Design Challenge 2024, was a great success.
The Challenge focused on the development of a design and graphic based on CULTURE: “The Story” and the winner graphic will be built for Palco InOut Framer for Gobos projector by iGuzzini and officially presented to the public at Dubai Design Week 2024_Downtown Design.

The Challenge included a dedicated Lighting Workshop by iGuzzini Team: Saba Napoletano, iGuzzini Marketing Manager; Andrea Miglioranzi, iGuzzini Technician; Nathalie Roumanos, iGuzzini Brand Specialist and Mayar Younes, iGuzzini Intern & AUD ID Alumna.

The projects have been developed in IDES392 Studio VI-Smart Design classes mentored by Prof. Lambri, AUD Chair of the Department of Interior Design and Associate Professor of Interior Design, and Prof. Poupak Parvaresh, AUD Assistant Professor of Interior Design.

Prof. Lambri stated: “The Challenge reached the 3rd edition, achieving significant design and creativity levels. The studio allows our Interior Design students to immerse themselves in Lighting Design and fully comprehend the technical aspects, enhancing their design skills.

The successful and solid collaboration with iGuzzini highlights, once again, the strong connection between the industry and AUD (American University in Dubai) Interior Design Department.”

An international Jury composed by Sergio Padula, iGuzzini Technical Director Middle East & English-Speaking Africa and Paula Cortes, Head of Lighting Design WSP-Middle East, with the participation of Vikita Shahani, Love That Design – Director of Strategy and Innovation, selected the winners.

Saba Napoletano stated: “We are honored and proud to have been part of such a creative and inspiring project with the AUD Interior Design Department. Once again, we were very impressed by the quality, the enthusiasm, the motivation and the skills demonstrated by the participants.

Light for Future, now in its third edition, is not only testament to the fruitful collaboration with AUD and its leadership, but also to our company’s commitment to education and Social Innovation. Light for Future is an initiative dedicated to the designers of the future which aims at spreading a Culture of Light enabling the students to master the discipline’s fundamental principles and its most current technologies to realize creative and sustainable proposals for social and individual wellbeing. Through this successful project we have built a strong, dedicated and creative community who shares common values and vision and who is eager to accept the new challenge!”.
