Mediterranean Essence’s By ACTIU – Second Edition – Presented “The Blind Cheese Tasting Night”
The second edition of MEDITERRANEAN ESSENCE, an event series that celebrated Mediterranean culture through gastronomy, art, and design, took place on May 16, 2023, in Dubai, UAE. Actiu, following its philosophy whereby it designs based on wellbeing and sustainability, continues with this series of events to promote and take its values and essence further. This edition featured “The Blind Cheese Tasting Night,” an immersive experience that highlighted the diverse flavors and textures of Spanish cheeses. The event was held at the ACTIU showroom in Dubai Design District.
During the blind cheese tasting, attendees had the opportunity to sample four different Spanish cheeses while blindfolded. An exciting final game challenged participants to identify some of the cheeses they had tasted earlier with their eyes closed, adding an element of suspense and engagement to the sensory experience.
Guiding the blind cheese tasting for the second time was renowned chef Iker Zapata, head chef of Tagomago at Palm Jumeirah. Chef Zapata, known for his expertise in Mediterranean cuisine and his passion for culinary exploration, shared his knowledge and insights into the world of Spanish cheeses, providing a unique perspective on their flavors and origins.
The event drew attendees from notable companies and organizations in the design and architecture fields, including ROAR, Accor, Spacewell, Broadway Interiors, SAY Studio, Bluehaus, Gensler, the Spanish Embassay, and the Spanish Business Council.
