Pedrali Obtains UNI ISO 45001:2018 Certification

Pedrali has been producing contemporary furniture for contract and residential since 1963 in its headquarters in Mornico al Serio, in the province of Bergamo, and in its factory in Manzano, in the province of Udine.

Every year, the Italian company invests in innovation, technology and equipment, as well as digitised production, as it firmly believes in the fundamental importance of ensuring high quality standards, environmental protection and worker safety, values that it is socially committed to upholding. Pursuing improvement goals is seen as an integral part of its operations and a strategic commitment concerning broader company objectives.

To demonstrate Pedrali’s commitment to continuous improvement, as well as concrete actions related to the quality of the materials used and to the production facilities, the company obtained important system and product certifications for all production processes at its Mornico al Serio and Manzano sites. In 2016, Pedrali obtained the UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 certification for the quality of its business processes, defining the requirements to ensure the conformity of products and of the entire production process; in 2017 the UNI EN ISO 14001:2015 certification for the environmental management system, implementing a series of concrete actions to reduce the environmental impact. Concrete examples are the use of FSC® C114358 certified wood from responsibly and adequately managed forests and the use of water-based coatings composed mostly of plant-derived resins, as well as completing its Corporate Carbon Footprint assessment, for which Pedrali obtained its certification according to the UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2019 standard.

The obtainment of the UNI ISO 45001:2018 certification for occupational safety and health management system in 2023, further confirms the company’s commitment to a path undertaken for years. It contributes to the creation of an integrated structure with management standards for quality and the environment, previously acquired. Since Pedrali considers health and safety at work an absolute right of all workers, a continuous undertaking and an integral part of its mission, the obtainment of this internationally recognised certification reaffirms its commitment.

Among the objectives of the UNI ISO 45001:2018 certification is the commitment of the entire company to protect workers by preventing illness and accidents and reduce undesirable consequences; to encourage the growth of a corporate safety culture by playing an active role; to monitor, measure and control the Occupational Health and Safety Management System with a view to ensuring its continuous improvement; to engage and empower all stakeholders, both inside and outside the company; to invest in the Occupational Health and Safety Management System as a distinctive and strategic element of the company’s competitiveness on the market.

Obtaining this certification, besides ensuring the consolidation of the company’s image, represents a step towards ESG (Environment, Social & Governance) objectives. It directs its capital and savings towards projects supporting social sustainability, inclusion and the well-being of workers. This standard, with its focus on leadership, involvement, and active participation of workers, strengthens the managerial and organisational
approach to support the adoption of a corporate culture that views health and safety at work not only as a regulatory compliance, but as an essential part of work processes and an opportunity for overall improvement and growth in company performance.

About Pedrali
Pedrali is an Italian company that produces contemporary furniture for contract and residential. The industrially designed, functional and versatile collections are the result of a process that combines tradition, innovation and engineering excellence. Entirely developed in Italy, they are made of metal, plastic material, wood and upholstery, also in combination with each other. Pedrali's products are the result of synergic collaboration with Italian and international designers who, with their invaluable contribution, make it possible to obtain important awards. The most prestigious in 2011: the XXII Compasso d'Oro ADI for the Frida chair, designed by Odo Fioravanti. The 100% Made in Italy philosophy becomes real through the internal production in the Headquarters of Mornico al Serio (Bergamo), where the automated warehouse designed by Cino Zucchi-CZA Cino Zucchi Architetti is based, and in the wooden manufacturing in Manzano (Udine).
The high quality and respect for the environment represent long-established practices for Pedrali. This is proved, for example, by the source of FSC® C114358 certified wood from adequately managed forests, for which water-based coatings composed mostly of plant-derived resins are used. Since 2018, Pedrali has been calculating its Corporate Carbon Footprint and obtained the certification according to UNI EN ISO 14064-1:2019.
