Pedrali — the Italian Company Takes Part in the 71st Edition of Stockholm Furniture Fair

For the 12th year, Pedrali takes part in the 2023 edition of Stockholm Furniture Fair, the leading Scandinavian event for the interior design and lighting. From 7 to 11 February, the Italian company presents its latest collections through the booth located in Hall A07:12. The expositive space is set up as a main volume, defined by longitudinal sections and slender, stylised archetypal columns with a graphical design marked by a terracotta-coloured band that features discontinuously on the walls. This element is then taken up on the inner walls and flooring, in continuity with the outside.

The booth brings to life three different scenes where the products are placed on a raised platform. The workspaces is defined today by new cross and hybrid areas. Pedrali recreates two welcoming environments, characterised by higher quality and aesthetic care; spaces that can be quickly and easily reconfigured, with modular partitions between individual workstations and collaborative areas. The Polar armchair takes centre stage in an office with multiple workstations. Designed by Jorge Pensi Design Studio, Polar is a task chair that ensures maximum customisation in terms of ergonomics with its simple and intuitive built-in mechanisms. The backrest consists of an injected-moulded nylon frame with a breathable, flexible polyester mesh for a sense of transparency. The injection-moulded polypropylene support at the lumbar area may be adjusted to the user’s needs. This element may be covered in the same fabric as the seat, for utmost customisation.

The seat, in polyurethane foam moves via a special mechanism that allows its depth to be adjusted. The chair guarantees excellent comfort thanks to its weight-activated, synchro-tilt mechanism that can regulate the degree of tilting autonomously according to the user’s body weight. Polar is available as a chair or armchair. The latter features minimalist armrests that can be adjusted in height, depth and width and can be orientated to suit the user’s needs.

Always by Jorge Pensi Design Studio is Temps low back, the latest version of Temps executive chair, is now characterised by a lower backrest. It is designed to seamlessly fit both in office meeting rooms and residential settings. Pure and elegant, Temps low back has a striking feature in its height-adjustable base made in diecast aluminium. The chair guarantees excellent ergonomics and comfort thanks to its weight-activated, synchro-tilt mechanism that is able to regulate the degree of tilting autonomously according to the user’s body weight. The seat and backrest are comfortable and warm with their polyurethane injected foam padding, cosily embracing the person sitting on the chair. The concept of a smart, dynamic workspace is brought to life by the Arki-Table Adjustable Desk, which allows one to work both standing and sitting, thus ensuring optimal comfort and ergonomics. The cable access, placed between the top and the panel, allows to anchor the sound absorbing panel upholstered in fabric which divides one desk from another. The panel can be easily removed and cleaned.

Ypsilon Connect, designed by Jorge Pensi Design Studio , is a functional free standing, sound absorbing space divider. Featuring clean lines and easily placeable in a variety of settings, Ypsilon Connect is characterised by acoustic panels that are shaped around a structure formed by two die-cast aluminium bases and extruded aluminium columns. One of the greatest strengths lies in its extensive customisation possibilities, thanks to which users can create ever new layouts and consequently manage their spaces more effectively, to create welcoming office spaces or functional training and meeting rooms, even remotely.

The setting is complemented by Hevea, designed by Victoria Azadinho Bocconi, the complement conceived to bring nature indoors. Hevea is a pot-holder consisting of a central steel stem to which polypropylene pots are hanged, obtaining different configurations based on their number and position. This versatile object makes it possible to arrange plants vertically, without occupying areas destined for other uses. The Toa table and the sound-absorbing Toa Folding Screen, both designed by Robin Rizzini, fit in the second setting. Lightweight and minimalist, the Toa table is characterised by a solid die-cast aluminium frame in a fluid geometric design, suitable to support large sized tops. Toa’s main features are its tapered bridge legs made of die-cast aluminium, which are thinner at the base and widen up towards the “T” element that supports the top. Moreover, being endlessly modular in length and width and the variety of finishes in which it is offered, it’s the perfect choice for work spaces and it can also be used within different contexts and uses: from living spaces to working environments.

Toa Folding Screen is a sound absorbing desktop panel that separates and defines spaces. It’s also the perfect solution for home working spacial arrangements. Given that it is extremely lightweight, the screen can be folded with ease and moved from one place to another, creating a defined and sound-proofed workstation. Multiple screens can also be used in a variety of layouts to create multiple workstations on a single table. Toa Folding Screen is characterized by a inner metal structure upholstered in fabric with a zip that makes it easy to remove, clean and maintain. The setting also includes the Babila XL armchairs, by Odo Fioravanti, that come with a polypropylene moulded shell that stands out for the large dimension of its seat and armrests. The aim is to offer greater seating comfort, also through the padded lining reminiscent of a woman’s dress, which is completely removable so that it may be cleaned, maintained and separated from the rest of the product with ease. The shell of Babila XL is made entirely from recycled polypropylene: 50% post-consumer plastic waste and 50% industrial plastic waste.

The third scene recreates a lounge area featuring Jeff, the modular sofa system designed by Patrick Norguet. Jeff is designed as a set of miniature architectures, skilfully combined to create multiple scenarios. The distinguishing feature is the harmony of its volumes: the squared backrest pairs with a delicate seat to soften and give balance to the whole structure. Each module is made from a highly comfortable and non-deformable polyurethane foam, resting on a plywood platform. The result is exceptionally soft, comfortable sofa in which organically-shaped seats subtly contrast with the more geometric and rigorous shapes of the backrest and armrests. Being aware that the line between the indoors and outdoors is becoming increasingly blurred, Pedrali recreates an outdoor area characterised by a luxuriant green wall. Here the Reva Cocoon by Patrick Jouin and the Nolita sofa by CMP Design, together with the Panarea lounge armchair, also designed by CMP Design, and the Caementum tables by Marco Merendi & Diego Vencato give life to an outdoor living designed to offer convivial and relaxing moments in the open air.

Reva Cocoon is a system of lounge seats for outdoor use: sofas made up of linear and corner elements and chaise longues, with backrests in two different heights. The line stands out for its striking backrests in stainless steel woven with rope in weather-resistant polypropylene, for a truly natural form. With its generous volumes and high backrests, Reva Cocoon creates a space within the space, offering protection and shelter from the outside world for those seeking a moment of relaxation and escape.

Nolita sofa is characterised by simple, iconic forms, the steel tube structure provides visual rhythm and subtle proportions, while guaranteeing utmost solidity and durability. By recalling the origins of a historic course started by Mario Pedrali in 1963 with his first metal garden chairs, the Nolita sofa keeps the collection’s distinctive features of transparency and lightness. The comfort is enhanced by soft cushions. The versatility lies in the possibility to combine different modules: linear or angular with right or left armrest. The Souvenir collection designed by Eugeni Quitllet, the Elliot tables by Patrick Jouin and the Giravolta lamps designed by Basaglia Rota Nodari, fit into this context as well. This new version of the lamp is characterised by a touch control and three light intensities.

Available in chair or armchair version, Souvenir reinterprets the classic green chairs of the Jardin des Tuileries or the Jardin du Luxembourg, the Parisian icons known all over the world. Souvenir evokes the iconic shape of these chairs, reinterpreting them through the use of a new material. The result is a monoblock made of polypropylene designed specifically for outdoor use. Very light yet extremely resistant, Souvenir stands out for its harmonious shape, integrating all its constituent elements in an organic and natural way. The soft shapes and three-dimensional slats make Souvenir particularly comfortable, while its legs widen towards the bottom, where they merge with an attractive small foot.

In line with Pedrali’s quest for environmental sustainability, Souvenir also comes in a “recycled grey” version from recycled polypropylene material. In this regard, since 2020, the study on Corporate Carbon Footprint has led the company to carry out significant investments aimed at reducing its environmental impact decreasing the co₂ emitted. The installation of more than 3,000 photovoltaic panels, the total replacement of the lighting systems with LED technology, the supply of energy from 100% renewable and certified sources, combined with a series of improvements, resulted in the total reduction of the company’s impact on the environment equal to 4430 tons of co₂.

The central area of the stand features the Buddyhub collection by Busetti Garuti Redaelli, also available in the Buddyhub desk version, both characterised by a perimeter sound-absorbing panel that embraces the seat in a sort of enclosed niche. The rounded shapes of Buddyhub and bold volumes of the seat and backrest are supported by the slender lightweight frame that raises Buddyhub off the ground, lightens its overall appearance, promoting functionality that makes cleaning and maintenance operations easier. Available as an armchair or sofa, with high or low panel, the functional and efficient Buddyhub offers an isolated alcove that encourages concentration and ensures acoustic and visual privacy. It is also possible to place two units opposite each other and to join them by means of a panel to which a table can be attached, thus creating an informal meeting space or break out area.

A large seat, in polyurethane foam supported by elastic belts, and a cosy backrest offer exceptional comfort while working or when enjoying a private moment of relaxation away from the surrounding environment. This makes Buddyhub suitable not just for office spaces, but also for lounge areas and waiting rooms in the contract and hospitality sectors. Buddyhub desk can be configured as a workstation, and it can be fitted with a cable management unit. Alternatively, it can be used as a temporary workstation, the top measuring 82×59 cm and 90 cm in height, designed as an intimate space for infomal work needs or for calls, in both a standing or sitting position. A pop-up socket can be provided upon request. Due to its structure and modular design, it can be combined with other Buddyhub Desk or with lounge seats from the same collection, to partition open spaces and create collaborative and meeting areas.

The Elinor low back, designed by Claudio Bellini, incorporates the different attitudes and approaches to working life looking to the future: it is dynamic and designed with people’s wellbeing in mind. Its visual styling is essential yet distinctive, and offers excellent performance thanks to its smart components which make it state-of-the-art yet inconspicuous, as they are integrated into the seat. Space to Héra armchairs by Patrick Jouin, characterised by a backrest in three-dimensional bent plywood of 6mm, has a remarkably elegant and ergonomic design, the Blume upholstered chairs by Sebastian Herkner, featured by a soft and rounded shape, they owe their distinctive appearance to the sophisticated flower- shaped profile in extruded aluminium, and Nym Soft armchair by CMP Design, subtly accentuating and enhancing its comfort.
