The Art of Creating Elegance

Project: Moët Hennessy New Offices, Paris, France
Architectural studio: Barbarito Bancel
Rugs: 11 unique rugs realized in 10 made-to-measure designs and different color gradations

The objective of this project is to convey emotion, which was made possible by the study of water. This vivid material inspired the architects with its fluidity and very delicate changes of colors. They used watercolors to paint different aquatic patterns, from which the Limited Edition studio took its inspiration to finalize the BB_Eau rug designs. For the Moët Hennessy project, everything has been made to measure, including the designs, the color schemes, and shapes.

The rugs have a deep pile, which is due to special production techniques – cut loop tufting and overtuft. Two materials, wool and silk, have been combined to create a ripple effect and water-like when it is made iridescent by the wind and light.

“We wanted the floor coverings to have a visual impact from a distance and feel great to walk on, while also meeting our deadlines and budgets,”

– explains Benjamin Bancel

“One of our values was to promote a local company, which still has the passion to believe to produce everything in its place of origin and above all with people-oriented project values,”
