About Eric Solè

Eric Solé was born in 1960 in Paris.
His first projects were more focused on technical research on the principles of transformation, folding chairs, office lamps or use of materials for exploiting their structural properties. His interest in lighting design is due in particular to the continuous

evolution of the availability of raw materials. Rather than new materials, there is above all the appearance of different sources, sizes, shapes and techniques. It is this novelty which, according to him, makes it impossible to anticipate the shape of a luminaire.

“A beautiful lamp must be like a living object, transforming itself when it is turned on. It must speak to us, illuminate us and give us comfort when it is dark.” His Mesmeri applique is a reflection of this magic.
