Sonali Bhagwati

Graduated with a degree in Architecture from C.E.P.T, Ahmadabad.
 She was trained with Architect Bernard Kohn, as recipient of scholarship from L’Institute Francaise D’Architecture.
 She started Spazzio Design Architecture in partnership with Sohrab Dalal.
 She is currently Partner of DPA, which has several award winning projects.
 She has more than 200 successfully completed projects to her credit.
 She has received several awards and her work has been widely published.
 She has been published as
o one of the 20 best Architects in India
o she has been regularly featured as Hot 100 Contemporary Indian Architects.
o She is named one of the top 12 interior architects in the country.
o Her experience and expertise in architecture and Interior design has been recognized by way of numerous awards and accolades including the Zee Business “Architect of the Year”
o numerous coverage’s in various National and International Books and Magazines.
 She has been a member of the Delhi Conservation Society
 She has served 2 successful terms as a member of the Delhi Urban Arts Commission (DUAC), one of the most prestigious organizations in the Country.
 Member of Delhi Urban Heritage Foundation
 Regularly speaks in public forums as a panelist as well as for delivering Keynote addresses.

Urban Level Activities :
 She has an in‐depth knowledge about the city and has done a research thesis on Urban Metamorphosis
with a case study of the Kashmere Gate area over a period of 180 years.
 She has conducted heritage walks in the Kashmere Gate area as a part of the Conservation Society, Delhi.
 She has served on a committee of experts constituted by ministry of environment to evaluate mining in the Aravali Hills.
 She has been an active member of a citizens group involved in reforestation of Sirifort city forest.

 Under DUAC she has been involved in:
o The restructuring of the building bye‐laws for Delhi
o proposal for rejuvenation of Shahjenabad.
o Creating Green Ways for enabling safe pedestrian movement.
 She is involved in several Suo Motu City projects taken up by DUAC.
 Passionate about pedestrianization, she proposed to take up a pilot project in South Delhi.
