About the project

Nho Saigon brings to Bombay its first authentic Vietnamese Cuisine Restaurant and Meadery.

The space is graced by shades of terracotta, teal, and the warmth of cane, but one will witness them assume life in a playful form. It’s an ode to Vietnamese lands but immersed in an unanticipated sense of quirk!

As one steps into Nho Saigon, the visual scenery is nothing short of poetic and transportive! Each surface tells a story that exceeds the expression of mere materiality. The exposed ceiling is a deep terracotta, something reminiscent of the ignited sky at sunset. The patterned teal skirting resembles visuals of deep waters and lush greenery that claim the lands. The umber flooring represents the eternal earth, bearing open its embrace.

The canopy of floral lighting pendants swirls merrily as though intoxicated. Their form is inspired by the conical straw hats donned by the Vietnamese, traditionally called the Nón Lá.

The bar is the nucleus of activity. The warm teal tone bathes the built-in shelving and the counter fascia entirely, celebrating the hue’s vivacity. It is perceived as an azure homage to Vietnamese paddy fields that paint the lands a deep, lush tone.

The culled-out sections in the bar unit are a geometric collage of hexagonal chambers of beehives from which honey for the meads is procured. The bar counter’s front is clad in stunning teal patterned tiles, creating a dynamic visual that unfolds to caress the walls uninterruptedly. The robust rope and wood barstools contrast the hues with their raw demeanor while tipping its hat to the classic Hans Wegner-designed Wishbone Chairs.
