About the project
Culture vultures will already know of the evolving art and cultural scene emerging in downtown Dubai. Zebra’s design transformation for Foundry, a progressive art space situated in the heart of this vibrant district, reflects the connection between artist, culture, location and viewer. Inspired by brutalist architecture, bare materials and structural elements provide a clean backdrop for art and conversation to take center stage.
Meander through the six interlinked galleries; exposed walls and columns, angular geometric shapes and a monochrome color palette effectively frame the work of emerging artists, providing the structural support for new ideas, thought and expression. Spread across the ground and first floor is a co-working space, an open-to-all area for anyone to meet, collaborate and foster new relationships. Custom-designed camel leather wrapped reading pods, designed in partnership with local artists, showcase community talent while offering a unique and peaceful creative thinking space.
