About the project

A 4bhk apartment where bohemian spirit meets the modern classic design sensibilities to make the home filled with light and positivity. Team DTA precisely interpret the client’s brief of crafting for them a happy place and they do so while accommodating the essence of their personalities and lifestyle in the design approach.

The classic-modern skin of the house inhabits and adapts to the boho essence of the clients’ personalities. The Jade colour of the entrance door lends tranquillity and calm vibes to the home. A narrow corridor in pastel hues of colour evoke a warm and comfortable emotion.

The living room exhibits free spiritedness through the use of textures, furniture and décor. The sofa
and dining table in the living room are seamlessly accommodated within the textured walls following
a grey and white colour palette. The handcrafted paintings, carefully chosen sculptures, lamps and
the plated wall alongwith the country furniture, allows the interweave which is elemental in
facilitating the expression of the ideas and emotions of our client.

The individualistic personalities of each member of the house is preserved in the respective private spaces of this 4 BHK house. In the parent’s bedroom we created a minimal and calm space where the walls take break from the white and use subtle hints of pink, which retains the bohemian vibe through the lamps hanging above both side tables of the bed.

The kids’ room is designed to exude a perky vibe with and despite the white walls of the room,
creating a distinctly fresh style by using different hues of pastel colours in the bedroom furniture.
The study/ meditation room is distributed across the central spine, dividing the space into two
halves. Two separate sittings are housed within this space. One being the Murphy bed, a relaxed
reading/meditation corner and another, opposite to it, a desk and chair for more formal tasks. The
study space and the kid’s room, distinct in their treatment and design elements are both furnished
with Murphy beds, exemplifying adaptable and transformable spaces.

Kitchen and the Master Bedroom are both essentially modern classical in style. Using the hints of
blue in both these spaces, we maintain the peaceful and serene ambience, even while momentarily
disengaging with the bohemian undertone of the house. The terrace is an abundant source of natural light which adds to the character of the home. A fun vibe of the home travels outdoors with use of colourful hand prints of everyone who worked to make this house a home.

They have meticulously used both, the serenity and exuberance of the colour ‘white’ throughout the
design of this house, to create peaceful stillness and at the same time offer a canvas to contain the
bohemian spirit. The vibrant abstract painting in the living room and lotus lamp hanging above the
object of devotion are both important metaphors of light, one that is both calm and vibrant at the
same time.
