About the project
In Dubai, people from all over the globe come together to take part in the process of cultural exchange, driven by cuisine and art. Our design for Time Out Market Dubai takes inspiration from the region’s market culture to bring the magazine’s handpicked style to life in Souk Al Bahar, wrapped in breath-taking views of Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Fountain.
Exposing the existing architectural fabric of the space creates a refined urban environment; columns wrapped in terracotta tiles are reminiscent of Dubai’s red sand dunes, while wooden tables and aesthetics replicate the grain and color of the city’s sandy shorelines. Industrial interiors, street art produced by local artists and neon art displays provide an artful contrast, reflecting the urban landscape.
Communal seating, tall tables and perching counters all crafted from durable materials create an inviting environment that encourages a meaningful gastronomic experience, rather grab-and-go, reflecting Time Out’s ethos of bringing people together through food, drink and entertainment.
