About the project
This project completes the northern part of the block with a perimeter building rendered dynamic by deviating slightly from the continuous façade. This allows a certain permeability: a porosity that links that street space to the internal garden, characterised by the unique direction of its pathways which derives from the layout of the buildings themselves.
The alternation of simple walls with facades articulated by gratings also introduces a certain fragmentation in the architectural narrative and creates a montage that suits the kaleidoscopic nature of the metropolis.
While the overall solution of the large block as per Beruto’s original town plan completes, so to speak, the nineteenth-century city, the inclusion of the tower in Viale Eginardo gives the district a significant landmark of over 70 metres high, bringing it in line with the scale of today’s city.
