ABOUT

Mark Cocksedge is a London-based photographer who works closely with the design industry, specialising in interiors, architecture, portraiture, and editorial photography.

After studying Graphic Arts and Design at Leeds Met University – where he received a grounding in traditional methods of shooting, processing and developing images – Cocksedge assisted documentary photographer John Angerson, and fashion photographer Dan Kennedy, shooting the likes of Grayson Perry, David Hockney and Peter Capaldi.

He also spent time in Washington DC documenting the Brave New Voices poetry festival for award-winning documentary We Are Poets, and in Malawi, capturing the country’s fashion and pattern-cutting industry for NGO Micro Enterprise Africa.

Having spent the last several years developing his style, Cocksedge moved to east London to set up his own studio, and focus on his work with the design industry – including collaborating with his brother, designer Paul Cocksedge, whose work he’s been documenting for the last decade.

Known for his crisp imagery and honest approach to portraiture, he has shot a host of up-and-coming designers, as well as some of the biggest names in the business including Lord Norman Foster, David Adjaye, Ron Arad and Thomas Heatherwick. Cocksedge has also photographed Sir David Attenborough for Norway’s Aftenposten, documented design festivals around the world, and been commissioned by clients including Swarovski, COS, Wallpaper* and Wedgwood. He undertakes commissions in the UK, and worldwide.
