ABOUT

Tactile Studio is a French design agency and a workshop for universal design in arts and culture.

Tactile experiences are essential to people with visual impairments and greatly assist many people with cognitive disabilities. Tactile experiences should be included in every exhibition. Thus, key objects of the exhibition will become understandable by using our senses: Looking – Listening – Smelling – Seeing the object.
With touching artefacts, an integrated audio or olfactive device and elevated texts the multi-sensory stations ask visitors to engage and to become actively involved in the exhibition. The result: Experience shows that a multi-sensory learning significantly increases the retention of content. While as visitors retained only 10% of an information after reading a text, 30% already better memorized the content after looking at a picture. In contrast, 90% of the information was retained after a participatory experience.

Pioneers in France, the nations’s top museums have entrusted their collections to our expertise in inclusive art mediation.

WHAT DO WE OFFER?
• tactile plans for orientation
• interactive plans
• touching artifacts, reproductions, models of images, architecture and objects
– interpreted for sensory learning
• relief depiction
• tactile books
• museum labels
• new technologies for multi-sensory learning
• comprehensive audio description

Your project is developed step by step, in the tradition of craftsmanship and with the know-how of 3D design.
Thus, scanning, stereolithography and dye transfer are among our diverse techniques to transmit content.
