Putting the human into Light
Artificial lighting has always been “human centric” as it has allowed us to perform tasks in reduced or no natural light. It has been recognised that lighting, both natural and artificial, has effects upon us and our increased activity outside of daylight hours can have negative effects on our physical and mental well-being.
The event focuses on the potential benefits of Human Centric Lighting (HCL) and its effects on workplaces and employees. HCL refers to lighting which has positive effects on well-being and productivity, to the extent that it is incorporated into recognised wellness programmes. In order to balance out the Circadian Rhythms of the body, we need to be exposed to more natural colours and intensities of light throughout the day. In this talk David Clements, CEO of lighting designers manufacturers FUTURE Designs, will debunk the myths about HCL whilst outlining how the FM World can capitalise on its benefits.
