Humanscale Presents ‘Hybrid Life’ Pop-Up Exhibit at Fulton Market Design Days 2023

Humanscale is proud to present Hybrid Life, a pop-up exhibit featuring a selection of new solutions and design studies that address post-pandemic work life. As the effects of the pandemic settle, many individuals are contemplating the future of corporate life, and companies are exploring ways to foster productivity and connectedness among remote workers. Humanscale is witnessing the most successful organizations thrive by embracing a balanced combination of diverse work modes based on Hybrid Life.

This Fulton Market Design Days, Humanscale will showcase an expression of ergonomic, sustainable, and commute-worthy design suited to the panorama of spaces wherever people work – in the office, at home, or in “third places.” Each product showcased in the Hybrid Life pop-up exhibit was designed with inclusivity in mind at every stage of its development to achieve an effortless user experience from start to finish.

On display will be a series of zones showcasing new product launches, launch previews and design studies. The first Zone, titled “Hybrid Conferencing,” will feature Humanscale’s latest seating solution, Smart Conference. Adapted from iconic industrial designer Niels Diffrient’s original award-winning Smart Chair, Smart Conference was designed with the understanding that conference rooms must evolve to seamlessly accommodate hybrid meetings, delivering an equitable seating experience for in-office workers.

Another zone, titled “Pro-Grade Workstations,” will feature Humanscale’s premium-tier technology and screen displays – including its award-winning Nova Light, Pro-Click Mouse, NeatCharge, NeatHub, NeatTech, and various monitor arms. The zone will also feature its Liberty Ocean chair, a sustainable adaptation of the brand’s first mesh task chair.

Humanscale’s Ocean Collection will also be highlighted in a zone. In 2016, Humanscale became the first manufacturer to turn discarded fishing nets into chairs, well ahead of any other furniture manufacturer. Since then, Humanscale’s Ocean Collection has expanded to include Smart Ocean, Liberty Ocean, Path, and the soon-to-be-launched Freedom Ocean. This ongoing endeavour reflects Humanscale’s steadfast commitment to reviving the health of our oceans and restoring the delicate balance between human and marine life. Like all Humanscale chairs, the Ocean Collection is also climate positive, meaning it gives back more to the planet than it takes to make. In 2022, 26 of Humanscale’s products, representing over 70% of its total revenue, were certified climate positive by the Living Product Challenge.

Additional Pop-Up zones include: “Elevated Huddle,” which will feature various design studies and launch previews; “Active Meeting,” featuring products that encourage movement, such as the brand’s newly launched Active Pony stool; “Meeting Collection,” which will introduce a range of graded-in upholstery fabrics for various chairs including Path, Summa, Freedom and more; “Premium WFH,” which highlights Humanscale’s sustainable yet meticulously crafted seated offerings to create thoughtful, unique spaces that are as beautiful as they are functional. Lastly, Humanscale’s “Work Lounge” zone will tackle “third places,” showcasing versatile solutions for transforming a work café into a dynamic event space.

“We’ve always been committed to designing with the health and comfort of consumers in mind. Our mission to promote wellness and connectivity has never been so clear and multifaceted and assumes an even greater importance in this post-pandemic world.”

Bob King, Founder & CEO of Humanscale
