World Water Day 2022: hansgrohe’s EcoSmart Technology Guarantees Up To 60% Less Water Usage

Nations and people from across the globe will mark World Water Day on March 22nd, with water conservation the main objective of this international awareness initiative.  German sanitaryware manufacturer, Hansgrohe Group and its premium brand, hansgrohe which supplies to some of the region’s most prominent high end real estate and hospitality projects, is proud to be behind the development of energy and water saving innovations being enjoyed by commercial clients and consumers.

The hansgrohe brand’s showers, shower systems and faucets are equipped with EcoSmart technology which guarantees up to 60 percent less water than conventional products. This decrease in hot water consumption also means lower energy requirements. This results in fewer carbon dioxide emissions and lower costs, meaning EcoSmart is good for the environment and is also economical to run.  In addition, the products are accompanied by a water savings calculator, a simple to use online tool that allows the user to determine the potential for saving water and energy and adjust their usage accordingly.

Hansgrohe has been producing water and energy-saving products since the 1980s and is one of the first companies in the sanitation industry to do so.  The company’s dedicated sustainability agenda also extends to the manufacturing process in Germany, which avoids using water, energy, and materials unnecessarily. Employees too, are encouraged to put forward ideas for improving the company’s environmental protection process.

Hansgrohe Group has increased its footprint across the Middle East region over the past several years, and now has presence in 13 GCC countries.  These include the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, with Iraq the latest addition to a growing list.  In the UAE, some of the most iconic and impressive regional landmarks feature hansgrohe or AXOR products, including Masdar City in Abu Dhabi; Burj Khalifa, the Bulgari Hotel and Skyview Towers in Dubai.   Marina Towers in Beirut and King Abdullah Financial District, Riyadh, KSA also boast Hansgrohe products.

“Conserving this natural resource and also the energy used for its distribution in the bathroom, without compromising the shower and bathing experience, continues to be our aim. Working with our architects, specifiers and interior design partners, EcoSmart Technology applied to our range of products, is becoming increasingly popular for companies and people who remain environmentally conscious and who want to protect the planet.     We are very pleased to be making a positive contribution to the global efforts that World Water Day marks, and we continue to place a keen focus on innovative sustainability, not just in design and manufacture but across the business.”
