Alan McDonald

A furniture and interiors specialist, Alan founded Chelsea Green at the end of 2017 to deliver quality ergonomic and design-led products at cost-effective prices. After working in the UK furniture market for several years, including being the co-owner of a successful dealership, Alan returned to South Africa in 2009 with Steelcase International. He then took a role in Qatar before joining Herman Miller, where he was responsible for the Middle East & Africa. In 2015, Alan joined Humanscale as Managing Director for MENA. Until recently, Alan was a long-standing member of the Interior Design advisory board at Dubai’s American University. He was also a founding member of CIAAD (Council for International Accreditation of Architecture & Design) and participated in numerous local, regional and international academic interior design jury panels for project evaluation and awards.
