About the project
The Seychelles is now home to Laïla, Seychelles, a Tribute Portfolio Resort, the first hotel of the indie-spirited brand in the country, providing a unique boutique experience that connects travelers with the local culture and the beauty of the destination.“We are thrilled to be opening Iaïla, Seychelles, a Tribute Portfolio Resort and to introduce the brand to this vibrant, leisure destination,” said Sandra Schulze-Potgieter, Vice President, Premium & Select Brands, Europe, Middle East and Africa, Marriott International, “As the first Tribute Portfolio property in the Seychelles and further growing its footprint in EMEA, this resort advocates the brand’s passion for captivating design and sincere service, while offering unique experiences that connect guests to the spirit of the destination.”Situated in a serene natural botanical paradise close to the picturesque Anse Royal beach on Mahé, the Seychelles’ largest island, the resort is an oasis that showcases the hidden treasures of the island.
The resort’s interiors, created by the award-winning MMAC Design based in Dubai, feature a harmonious color scheme with bold pops of green that pay tribute to the tropical surroundings. Guests will appreciate the intricate detailing throughout the hotel, including the lobby ceiling, which reflects the shapes of the many islands in the Seychelles. Each of the resort’s 76 bespoke guest rooms is decorated with nature-inspired aesthetics, featuring amural of the Seychelles’ plant silhouette, hand-woven macramé bed board, and room separator made with wood and rattan, traditional materials used in the island’s architecture. Families or groups of friends can choose from eight boutique suites, including the Senior Suite with a private plunge pool and terrace over looking the Indian Ocean and surrounding mountains.
