About the project
In 2014, the decision was made to renovate the historic parliament building in Vienna, and the first construction work began in early 2018. Now, after almost 5 years of construction, the work has been completed and the official reopening is imminent.
Numerous renovation works were carried out inside and outside by renowned architectural practice Jabornegg & Pálffy the in the almost 140-year-old building. Several trades worked simultaneously, be it on the roof, in the conference hall or in the new visitors’ gallery. From demolition work to the elaborate refurbishment of listed elements, no effort was spared to modernise the building while preserving its historical value.
