Bill Desk Office, Mumbai

Client Background: Bill Desk is an Indian online payment gateway company based in Mumbai. The company provides an online payment platform for its clients which enables banking and merchant website transactions.

Client Brief: Client’s brief to us was to have a modern state of the art office which reflects their company ethos of transparency and technology. The requirement was to seat approx. 150 people on the floor along with the management team. The pace was to be clearly demarcated between visitor zone & work area

Client Expectations: The client wanted to keep the building structure raw and visible. The emphasis was on extensive use of glass to symbolize transparency. The layout was to be kept straightforward and allow for natural light to permeate in the office. Challenges: To create transparent massing blocks which are aesthetically pleasing, acoustically controlled and functionally optimized.

Concept and Design Approach : The layout was approached with two main criteria’s:

1. To keep visitor and employee area segregated

2. To ensure that natural light is available to all workforce

A strong design element was introduced with the connected hexagon light fixtures which moves around all the office space. This symbolizes the connectivity between the bill desk interface, the users & the financial institutions Bill Desk brand color – Orange was used sparingly but effectively to bring about a pop of color. A subtle imagery was worked with the hexagon shaped Bill Desk logo as it was tweaked and used as an engraving pattern throughout the office space. Overall result was an open, harmonious and functional office space that would make the employees feel comfortable & connected to the space.
