About the project
As Cho Gao is an existing franchise concept of Creneau International, their main challenge for this location was to redevelop the identity and design, create a higher end style, enhancing the experience and taking the Cho Gao concept on an evolutionary journey; to solidify its status in the market without losing or alienating its existing customers and retaining the key identity that is Cho Goa.
There are several design features within Cho Gao; for example, the open sushi counter that allows the customer a seated experience; the larger cocktail bar with its full height back bar display; hand painted wall and floor art, which had been developed and installed by Creneau International‘s in-house designer and artists, giving the final touch; as well as the large terrace area which overlooks the stunning views of the Marina.
The design inspiration is driven from the Asian rice and street market. This can be seen in the design by the seating layout, how each area can feel quite transient atmosphere, yet still delivers a sense of intimacy with the dividing display shelves, the theatrical open kitchen and sushi counter. And finally, the fine-tuning with hand painted wall art and authentic decorative elements sourced from Asia itself.
The soul of Cho Gao is all about the richness of Asian tradition and authenticity combined with the creativity, energy and senses of the East-Asian culture. In Cho Gao which means rice market, we invite the visitors to explore this authentic Asian themed atmosphere in combination with the best food Asia has to offer. After all, it’s the continent of the everlasting smile.
