In business for almost 60 years, Heidrick & Struggles International, Inc., (Nasdaq:HSII) is a leadership advisory firm providing executive search and leadership consulting services.
To meet the needs of its multi-national clients, Heidrick & Struggles operates from more than 50 offices around the world. In early 2009, the company, along with its international architect and design partner, Gensler, developed workplace design standards in order to ensure that each of its offices achieved a consistent look and feel of superior design and quality. Additional benefits of the workplace design standards included a more efficient process for new office build-outs, state-of-the-art space for client and candidate interaction, better utilization of space and light, and numerous cost savings throughout the process. These standards serve as a blueprint for creating new workplace environments that promote efficiency and sustainability while providing engaging client and employee experiences and were developed with both the individual and the organization in mind.
For their recent interiors project at Liberty House in Dubai’s DIFC area, Heidrick & Struggles sought Gensler’s input for appointing a well reputed fit out contractor who could ensure the client’s deliverables for design, quality and budget were met. Summertown initially worked alongside Gensler to undertake a full value engineering exercise to meet the client’s budget requirements without compromising the design consultant’s specifications.
A number of private offices plus an open plan working area central to the workspace was executed. Whilst the other half of the office featured an executive corridor featuring meeting rooms including a board room with full AV capabilities for video conferencing and client presentations. The reception area was created to reflect a highly professional image with veneer paneling and specialist lighting. Overall the project was delivered meeting tight deadlines and to meet both client deliverables and design firm Gensler’s high expectations.
