About the project
Mirage Project Point is a multi-functional and innovative co-working space by Italian manufacturers Mirage at D3, Dubai Design District. Mirage designs and produces porcelain stoneware floors and coverings for commercial, public and residential spaces.
The project is an open consulting and meeting space, dedicated to all those who work with Mirage: architects, designers and other operators in the sector.
Designed by Pallavi Dean Interiors the client’s brief was to create an authentic, permanent workshop aimed at the world of projects, design, construction and retail – the figures the client works alongside every day.
Mirage Project Point was to be positioned as a creative, co-working space, as well as an area conceived to allow users to consult ceramic materials, select color combinations, discuss projects, create mock-ups and find new, customized technical solutions.
Architects, designers and industry professionals are today able to use the Mirage Project Point to organize their meetings, presentations, workshops and seminars, and also benefit from the latest video/audio technologies in a space designed and built for people who create and design the spaces for contemporary life.
The Mirage Project Point is divided into three areas; a central main open space with tile displays on the periphery and mobile ‘Consultation Bars’ in the center. This main space can also be cleared away for events and CPD talks. The second space is a semi-private ‘Garden meeting area’, positioned next to the exterior glazing with an inside/outside look and feel showcasing Mirage’s exterior products. The third space is an enclosed ‘Jewel Box’ meeting room which is fully clad in the luxury ‘Jewels Suite’ tile product. The designers intent was to make visitors feel that they have entered inside a glam jewelry box!
The challenge for the team at Pallavi Dean Interiors was to balance creative display with functional displays. The space had to function as a sales/consultation showroom with some traditional displays and with lots of storage. The functional displays were designed to be part of the surrounding walls with hidden storage, maintaining a sense of openness and “white gallery” feel throughout the showroom allowing the creative installations to breathe.
The space can be re-shaped with movable partitions and furniture-scapes and has flexible track lighting and open ceilings which are key to ensure the area is not stunted by technical limitations.
