About the project
Nando’s Al Hamra, Ras Al Khaimah, a Portuguese-inspired, South African-developed, grilled chicken restaurant renowned for its delicious peri peri-flavoured food. And the brand has successfully established itself in the UAE, branching out from Dubai into the neighboring emirates. This restaurant, which opened in Al Hamra, was designed by Keane Brands. The fitout was executed by Plafond and the project was managed by Compass Project Consulting.
The fitout covers a joinery ceiling, an outdoor eating area, a dining area overlooking the mall atrium, a full-service kitchen and, of course, bespoke furniture, tiling and artwork sourced from around the world. Moreover, the resulting design effect is an interior that is deliciously rustic, and still very young and fresh.
A wooden backdrop, roped chairs and basket weave on the hanging lamps are juxtaposed against modern lighting and a geometric design structure, with the signature Nando’s orange cleverly added to the furniture and the upholstery.
