About the project
Set amidst Dubai Mall’s buzzing atmosphere, this branch of Nandos was to serve as an easy respite to the diners. The designers were given a clear brief – to design a contemporary yet eclectic restaurant, which would still be relatable to the parent brand. It could also double up as a place to lounge and ooze a smart, stylish and lux ambience.
Focusing on the requirements of the interior designer, the work was planned in zones. A small reception, the sit-down dining areas, the bar and the couch seating booths were planned keeping in mind the design, décor and multiple functions of the space. Every furniture and detail was customised or carefully sourced for the restaurant. The criss-cross wooden lattice on the walls was assembled piece by piece. The wicker chandeliers suspended from the ceiling formed a part of the focal decorative lighting, while the general lighting was executed with exposed bulbs. The end result was a wonderfully eclectic, rugged space featuring leather, wood and metal, and unique art.
