About the project

High above the Bosphorus, the elegant Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Istanbul offers scenic hotel views of Istanbul. Luxury is reflected throughout the property, including rooms and bathrooms. A few steps away guests will find beautiful gardens. Due to its elevated position, Swissôtel Bosphorus, Istanbul is the perfect place to enjoy sweeping views of Istanbul, including the historical area and the ever-busy Bosphorus.

The upscale Nisantasi district is also a short stroll away from Swissôtel Bosphorus, Istanbul – a wonderful place to start exploring the prestigious shops, charming restaurants and trendy bars at Abdi Ipekçi Street. Guests are invited to book rooms with a park, garden or Bosphorus view.

Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Istanbul is renewed for its guests with a unique touch by world-renowned interior designer Khuan Chew, from floor to ceiling to enhance the view of Bosphorus and the two continents; Europe and Asia. This is a very unique feature which makes Swissôtel Bosphorus, Istanbul one of the most famous city resorts in the world.
A leading example of contemporary luxury, Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Istanbul is enhancing its overall comfort and guest experience by combining the best in Swiss sophistication, precision and simplicity with the warmth of Turkish culture, taking full advantage of Swissotel’s unique location within Istanbul.

Star architect Khuan Chew was inspired by Swissotel’s amazing views of the Bosphorus and its exceptional setting in the midst of the 65-acre gardens adjacent to Dolmabahce Palace, the last residence of the Ottoman Sultans. The results are reflected in the colour and feel of the new lift landing and corridors. Chew’s award-winning team is also refurbishing the guest rooms of this five-star hotel in keeping with the Swissotel brand concept: luxurious comfort with modern details, using genuine materials like wood, stone and metal that are always authentic. Each room and suite is being tastefully decorated with state-of-the art amenities for rooms that are elegantly tailored to the modern guest. KCA wanted to create a Loft design of an urban nature , representing Istanbul’ status as the industrial centre of Turkey. Rich textural surfaces, tactile finishes and the use of glass & metalwork is a nod to the local export trade.

The design style connects with great fashion capitals such as New York and London, especially the use of exposed brick, cow hides and locally sourced artworks/photography. The Lofts are not too polished or stylized to achieve a home from home feel. They are more designed in an informal setting to relax alone or socialise within a group. There is even a slight minimalistic approach to the walls, which maximises the spectacular views to the Bosphorus. The furniture is slightly eclectic to add character and points of interest. The colours are a mix of cool and warm greys, tobacco browns, black and an injection of colour accents such as turquoise, pinks and oranges. It’s a canvas if you like, meant to be embellished with local and international works of art, accessories, books etc. KCA design tried to add elements of surprise, a wow factor. This can be seen with the sliding artwork panel that reveals the TV, wood effect stone floor or perhaps the stunning heavyweight concrete bedside lights.

The inspiration is easily explained as it can be seen from the ideas stemming from the local landscape and the views from the hotel. The corridors and lift lobby are depicting the exterior in the landscape of the natural garden which is in proximity to the hotel, and the deep blue of the Turkish waters – the Bosphorus. The amazing view enhanced with the natural color codes used in the room decoration draws attention at first sight. Everything is designed to maximize space in the privacy of the room, from the amenities in the bathroom to the work/rest area in the window alcove. In the decoration, the essence of the room is to capture the Swiss elegance with small doses of Turkish touch. It’s a timeless style. It is neither Europe or Asia, as Istanbul sits on the crossroads that link the two continents.

Swissôtel The Bosphorus, Istanbul, which continues to create a difference with its renewed design and the habitual outstanding service mentality, added a new alternative to its international standard deluxe and exclusive accommodation choices; “Loft Rooms”… New guest rooms ‘Loft Suites’ offer a unique ‘New York Style’ design and feel with two levels where the bedroom is located on a mezzanine floor accessed by a steel constructed staircase and a full height brick stone wall.
