About the project
Quickly gaining renown for its magnificent stretch of golden sand and drawing inspiration from the U.S., Palm West Beach has become one of Dubai’s latest hotspots, attracting everyone from holidaymakers to residents. The 1.6km promenade accommodates some of the city’s most picturesque beach clubs, with a new addition on the horizon.
The 305, aptly named after Miami’s area code, was entrusted to Bishop Design by a valued long-term client with whom they have fostered a close working relationship over the years. Their recent collaborations with the Nightlife specialists have introduced innovative, industry-redefining concepts to the region, setting new benchmarks across various sectors. Among these are establishments such as En Fuego, a fiery South American-inspired venue nestled within the prestigious Atlantis The Palm; the renovation of one of their cherished flagship restaurants, Asia Asia – Pier 7; the creation of an award-winning, well-appointed spa and wellness sanctuary known as Blended Wellness; and a few upcoming projects poised for launch this year, including a fourth Asia Asia on The Palm Jumeirah and an exciting new Italian concept, Papas, in Dubai Marina. So, when the concept of The 305 was presented, the renowned design firm couldn’t resist the opportunity to add a Miami-inspired Beach Club to their portfolio, especially given the recent launch of their office in Wynwood.
The brief was simple, seamlessly integrate the venue into the local environment using a muted palette, all while crafting a unique Miami identity through pops of color.
At the internal bar, vivacious colors infuse the space, firmly establishing the Miami vibe and creating a strong sense of place for guests as they shift from one area to another. The design incorporates a variety of captivating elements, including bold block-color renderings, a monochromatic ceiling, retro Wynwood-inspired wall murals paying homage to the artistic spirit of the neighborhood, and subtle terracotta nuances that nod to the timeless charm of the art deco era. These elements effortlessly blend the past with the present, encapsulating Miami’s cultural heritage while presenting it in a modern and fresh manner.
Geometric shapes take center stage, weaving through the entire venue in patterns that adorn materials, custom-made furniture, and intricate ceramic floor tiles. The vibrant color scheme and delicate shapes create a seamless transition, adding visual interest and fostering continuity and unity in the space.
Nostalgic touches playfully enhance the atmosphere. Suspended roller blades serve as quirky decor, invoking carefree days spent roller skating along the iconic Miami Beach boardwalk. Vintage telephones and an ice cream machine add a touch of nostalgia, while inviting guests to engage with the space, reinforcing a sense of community.
Externally, a harmonious fusion of tranquil greens and pastel pinks, enhanced by subtle shading, creates an inviting poolside oasis. Here, guests can discover delectable culinary offerings or recline in leisure while sipping on specially curated cocktails. Beyond this, sun enthusiasts will discover a serene beach haven furnished with a variety of loungers and daybeds. This sandy area dedicates its perimeter to spacious cabanas, ideal for those seeking an intimate, shaded hideaway or alternatively, larger groups looking to celebrate.
Pastel nuances infuse every corner, from fabrics to tabletops and bar facades meanwhile, the venue comes alive with the lush presence of greenery, evoking the natural beauty found in Miami, a stark contrast to the desert landscape surroundings.
The design aesthetic effectively echoes a relaxed ambience but can quickly change thanks to the energetic pool beats and adaptable lounge arrangements, ready to cater to various party sizes. Bishop Design have affectively created an outdoor retreat where carefully curated elements combine to create an immersive and unforgettable experience, for guests. The vibrant spirit of Miami’s past and present coalesce in a harmonious celebration of culture, design, and nostalgia.
