The Champagne House, Mumbai

Set in one of the Mumbai high rises with a complete glass façade, The Champagne House is light, airy, and chicas the name suggests. The brief was to design an opulent and modern home and luxury was one of the key words. We thought of a desert colour palate for the home, warm colours and earthy shades like dusty beige, tans and muted oranges provide the perfect pop of colour while still managing to be chic and subdued. Neutrals don’t have to be boring, to make it interesting we played with texture and a hint of pattern. Walls cladded with dyed ash veneer, alternating with textured wood matched to the veneer, camouflages the master bedroom entry. White flutes on the curtain pelmet gives that touch of pattern. The casual side of the Living room has a backlit exotic marble wall, forming the back drop for the white onyx in laid dining table. The specially customised London Art wallpaper creates that mix of flamboyance and contemporary design. The entrance lobby sports a delicate geometric in lay pattern on the floor. The house was designed to reflect soft luxury and that feeling resonated throughout the house.
