Announcing, the Surge Sustainability Awards 2019

Sustainability is the way forward. It’s what we need now, more than ever, to ensure a better tomorrow. Surge for Water, understanding the importance of this, seeks to shine a spotlight on the region’s most holistic projects by adding a new category to their annual event – the Surge Sustainability Awards 2019.

Surge for Water is dedicated to finding ways of utilising the Earth’s resources to bring about a positive change to those in need. So it comes as no surprise that this year, the organisation has added a new category to their glittering gala event, namely the Surge Sustainability Awards 2019.

Surge’s Sustainability Awards will explore projects from the regional A+D industry, that best use sustainable design elements to ensure the wellness of the occupants using those spaces. “In addition to our core mission of bringing safe water to people in need, Surge also believes that we all play an integral part in protecting the precious resources on our planet,” says Shilpa Alva, founder of Surge for Water. Shilpa tells us about the crucial role designers and architects play in bringing about a change in the way we approach design, and as an extension, live in these spaces.

“As interior designers, architects, and contractors, we have a unique opportunity to integrate sustainability into our work, and make a huge positive impact on our home – Mother Earth. In line with our core values, we are excited to launch the Surge Sustainability Awards 2019 to recognise the leaders in this space. We hope to use this as a platform to inspire the rest of our industry, too.”
