About the project
1 Rebel planned to expand to the Middle East, following the success of the brand in the UK and chose ICD Brookfield as a key destination within the cosmopolitan DIFC area. The Interior design is done by AAID (Allen Architecture Interiors Design) in collaboration with APA London, and ISG Middle East were chosen to deliver the fit-out.
This gym was the first Open Plan Space gym for 1 Rebel however all areas followed the brands industrial, raw feel concept with luxury feel finishes such as a velvet curtain wall façade entrance and a high mirrored wall at reception.
The 10,000sqft venue has a significant amount of blockwork and metal works with sunburst and feature lighting, inspired by the Ain Dubai. The space featured 90% of exposed ceilings and MEP with an acoustic spray to satisfy acoustic criteria in ICDBP. The specialist lighting and AV scope gives the project a real “WOW” factor.
