About the project

In 2022, the Uruguayan lending company Creditel began a process of transformation which impacted its business model, operations and culture, and involved a digital shift. These changes required a more flexible, highly tech-driven, adaptable and agile structure, four traits which would also need to be reflected in the company’s workplaces.

To achieve this goal, Contract Workplaces’ proposal for Creditel involved transforming its Montevideo headquarters into a hub built on collaboration, efficiency, creativity and freedom of initiative, capable of fostering engagement and a sense of belonging in the staff.

The project was carried out over an area of 9,260 sq ft, distributed across three floors of a new office building located in Parque Batlle, on Ricaldoni Avenue.

The guiding principle for this design consisted in dividing the total area into four “neighborhoods,” each of them inspired by the main cultural and geographical characteristics of the country’s four quadrants.

The layout setting followed an activity-based model, which offers multiple options and arrangements to support a variety of tasks, rather than forcing people to work in a single environment, tied to a desk. This model favors innovation and enables teams to collaborate seamlessly. In this respect, connectivity plays a key role, as it simultaneously enables free circulation across the space and the implementation of a hybrid working arrangement.

The external spaces, previously unused, came to life with new furniture and various shading systems, so that employees can now socialize and work in direct contact with nature.

In terms of overall esthetics, Contract Workplaces picked a color palette dominated by primary colors (red, blue and yellow), applied in shades that complement the finishes, the ceilings and the carpet, in sync with geometrical graphics which add liveliness and character to the space.

The result shows an ecosystem of flexible, modern spaces with strong local roots, which offers users an experience of identity and empowers their activities.
