About the project
The Fashion Avenue Expansion – The Dubai Mall was a collaboration between Emaar, DP Architects, WSP and Kinnersley Kent Design’s studios in Dubai and London. The brief from Emaar was to create a five-star hotel experience, and this is what drove the concept.
The design philosophy was to create a luxury environment that high-end fashion brands would aspire to be in, and a world-class shopping destination to rival and surpass that of other major cities around the world. This stemmed from conversations about how high-end designer fashion brands approach the look and feel of their stores. If high-level fashion brands are defined by impeccable service, attention to detail, luxurious materials and consistency across all touchpoints, then the new expansion had to encompass these values throughout to appeal to the global, luxury fashion customer.
So, when the project was completed, customers would step into a world of personalised hospitality, with expert personal shoppers, in-mall chauffeurs and gourmet dining.
The interior design of this extension breathes understated glamour, featuring a combination of quality materials and refined details. The light palette includes white, grey-veined Statuario marble, polished stainless steel, tactile warm timber, rich carpeting, and luxurious upholstery. This elegant and decadent feel is underscored by the careful placement of furniture, artworks and planters throughout.
