About the project
The interiors for Pine Tree Villa achieve a balanced interplay of classical and contemporary style. The entrance area features artwork by Mersad Berber and classical parquet flooring, and the open-plan scene reveals a two-storey living area, as well as the more intimate kitchen and dining room. Black marble flooring counterbalances a white marble staircase, which is surrounded by a modern metal fence. A hanging chandelier and an anthracite mirror form the verticals in the space. The gallery on the first floor is punctuated by another painting by well-known Slovenian painter, Emerik Bernard.
The master bedroom on the first floor exudes comfort and the feeling of intimacy. The bed is embraced by a raster of soft stucco moulding while the wall on the far edge is decorated with a rich collage of photographs by prominent Slovenian photographer, Uroš Abram. The photograph theme continues into the bathroom where Tanja Lažetić’s work breathes ambience into the space. The walls follow the natural texture of the stone through a collage of juxtaposed black and white ceramic elements.
The overall result is an elaborate melange of stylistic principles, materials, lighting elements, and lines guiding the visitors throughout the house. Despite the magnanimous size of the villa, the designers succeeded in creating a homely interior in accordance with the clients’ wishes.
