About the project
Prime Healthcare Group invited international architecture and interior design firm dwp to design selected areas for a 70-bed Hospital in Dubai, UAE. The brief was to provide an economical, attractive and welcoming design solution of international standard for this contemporary facility.
dwp created a consistent design language throughout the building that promotes a sense of wellness and comfort. Carefully considered was the circulation through spaces and the need to ensure a welcoming environment to patients and visitors.
dwp made use of warm color tones, natural elements and soft lighting, in a move away from white work surfaces in public areas. The idea is to promote wellness and well being, rather than the notion of the purely clinical aspect of healthcare. The design also addressed the functionality of the reception areas and provided ‘traditional’ and ‘open’ style desks in the consultation rooms.
Te hospital is built in accordance with American Institute of Architects Hospital Architecture (AIA) guidelines and as per JCI standards.
