About the project
Waldkliniken Eisenberg is the biggest and leading orthopedic university hospital in Europe. The concept creates a relationship between patient and physical environment and influences wellbeing. A simple and sustainable Architecture is combined with an interior design that puts the wellbeing of the patients first.
Architecture and interior convinced the ministry of Thuringia as the most ecological, sustainable and economical concept. The 240-bed project will house orthopaedic patients in a building that unifies physical space, hospitality, and patient care to a level rarely seen in hospital environments. Hotel standard for a municipal hospital – the patient is the guest.
